The 4 Pulse Check Types

Pulse Checks® are a quick and easy way to get feedback. We offer four different options to help you get the information you need. All Pulse Checks include an optional anonymity feature by default, allowing users to choose whether to share their name.

1. Standard

This is the most common pulse check format. It includes:

  • A sentiment question that gauges happiness. The question can be customized, but the default is, "Are you happy with at this time? Please reply: YES, MOSTLY, or NO.".
  • An open-ended response where users can provide more detail. The question changes based on their previous response:
    • If happy: "What praise, ideas, or questions do you have?"
    • If not happy: "What needs or concerns do you have?"
  • Optional anonymity

2. Bonus Question

This Pulse Check starts with a sentiment question and then adds a custom Bonus Question before the open-ended response.

3. Bonus Question First

This option prioritizes a custom Bonus Question, asking it before the standard sentiment question and open-ended response.

4. Bonus Question Only

This is the most direct option, asking only a custom Bonus Question with the option for anonymity.

Additional Customizations

You can also customize these Pulse Checks in a few ways:

  • Remove the optional anonymity feature.
  • Adapt the sentiment question to something different, like, "Are your needs being met?".
